Digital printing: Is it really so difficult to achieve the color the customer wants?
Now, the development of digital printing becomes faster and faster. It improves monthly. In this era of rapid development, traditional printing technology can no longer keep up with the current development needs.
Compared with the current fast fashion, the rhythm of traditional printing is indeed a bit slow. Digital printing is a perfect fit with the development of modern times and it also meets the needs of current consumers.
However, those who have experience in digital printing production may have the feeling that it is really not easy to restore the color perfectly. (Although digital printing has no limitations on register and pattern, and the degree of reduction is much higher than traditional printing, it is indeed not an easy task to achieve perfect restoration.)
In fact, it is very simple. Digital printing is actually a printing technique using digital technology. The design drawing needs to be edited on the computer. Different computer screens will make no small difference in color. If the output printed, it will deviate from the required color.
Moreover, the slow reflection of light on different materials is also different, so the color on the screen you see and the color on the printed cotton cloth will have a certain deviation.
In addition, because digital printing is greatly affected by temperature and humidity, and the production process is more, it can actually be said that there will be some color difference.
1. Use the software
Professional image monitors can generally cooperate with professional color management software for screen calibration. Set the parameters according to the requirements. Use the spectrophotometer or the colorimeter equipped with the monitor to measure the Lab value of the color block displayed by the software. Generate a monitor color profile. We use it on the graphics card driver or written to the internal memory of the monitor. The accuracy of the spectrophotometer is better, and the colorimeter that comes with the professional display can complete this work more quickly.
2. Control the temperature and humidity of the production workshop
As mentioned earlier, temperature and humidity can greatly affect digital printing, so maintaining a good temperature and humidity will also help the color reproduction of the printing.
3. Use the same batch of fabric
If the batch of fabric and the batch of sizing are different, it will also have a great impact on the color of the print. In the production process, try to choose the same batch of fabric for printing. If the same batch of fabric used out, you must remember to re-color the production when using other batches of fabric.
4. Print production with the same equipment
The production of digital printing better to be produced by the same machine. Because the density, stability, ink volume control, and curve of different machines are different. So if you do not adjust them, you can change the machine directly. There will be errors in production. It takes a long time to adjust to print the same effect on different machines.
Therefore, during the production, we grasp every link and let the products show high-quality effects.
